It appears that people use the word bisexual as the ultimate get out of jail card for having extra-partner relationships and they expect this to be accepted without question. A lesbian would be expected to stay committed to her partner if she said she was in a stable relationship. Similarly, the same would expected of be a gay man. But being a bisexual apparently results in an overwhelming, inexorable, relentless and perfectly excusable compulsion to have sex outside a relationship.
